Empty Your Tank
“The only limit to our realization of tomorrow is our doubts of today.” — Franklin D. Roosevelt
Never work from 8-5. Instead, work from the morning until you hit your goal. To do this effectively, gain clarity on your desired outcome for the day. Once this is clear, work as hard as you can to reach that goal. Empty your tank each day and leave nothing on the field. Seek out the inputs that directly correlate with the outputs you want, then pour all your energy into those inputs.
The key isn’t just working hard—it’s working on the right things, in the right way. Avoid behavior skew, and separate how you feel from what is required. Your feelings do not matter in this equation. If it’s painful, good.
Pain is a signal that you’re still alive. And if you’re still alive, you can keep working. Remember, growth often comes from discomfort, and what you achieve in those moments is what defines you.
