Pain Is Fuel

“Out of suffering have emerged the strongest souls; the most massive characters are seared with scars.” — Khalil Gibran

Pain is a natural part of life—it reminds you that you’re alive. It calls attention to past mercies, forces you to exercise grit and faith, and humbles you, teaching patience. Pain brings your true priorities into sharp focus. Pain strengthens you, preparing you for what lies ahead. Pain can be recycled and used as a powerful source of fuel that can propel you forward.

How you feel about pain is within your control. It may be ideal to become indifferent to it, that’s often difficult. You must learn to embrace it—see it for what it is and find ways to use it to your advantage. Don’t let pain disable you. Instead, make it work for you. Expect pain, embrace it, and focus it. Use it to propel yourself to new heights.
