Master Annoyance

“He who angers you conquers you.” — Elizabeth Kenny

Why do you let yourself become so easily agitated? Annoyance is familiar, but why invite it in? Let go of these foolish irritants and refocus your mind on something productive. The lure of complaint and gossip is seductive, especially when dealing with irritating tasks and people—but what good has ever come from indulging in them?

Replace your rumination with gratitude and redirect your thoughts to what matters. Annoyance serves no purpose; it only reveals your own discontent, not the flaws of others. Release the external factors that don’t serve you, and regain your focus.

You have much to do and little time. How tragic it would be to spend your final moments consumed with irritation. We don’t know when death will come—and what a shame it would be to meet it with a mind full of frustration. Free your mind, let go of the unnecessary, and turn back to meaningful work.
