Pathological lens
“No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.” – Eleanor Roosevelt
Why do you demonize your virtues? Just because you are deeply empathetic doesn’t mean you are emotionally weak. Your drive to achieve is not arrogance or selfishness. Your kindness toward others is not mere people-pleasing or pandering.
Take off the pathological lens—the one that twists and distorts your positive traits into something negative. See your behaviors and qualities as they truly exist within you. Stop catering to external voices or internal insecurities that attempt to warp the good within you. Understanding nuance and context is key. Without them, even the best parts of you may seem dysfunctional when misunderstood.
Overcome concern with societal norms and silencing the internal critic that undermines you. Your unique traits and idiosyncrasies are not flaws but defining characteristics of who you are.
