“Do Your Job”
Hear these words (“Do your job”) and focus on doing what you are supposed to be doing right now. Stop worrying about what others are doing, not doing, or what you think they should be doing. These things are outside your control. Don’t try to do someone else’s job. Just focus on your assignment.
Know this, if you can’t be effective right now in your own role, then you are not only hurting yourself, but everyone around you. See the freedom and clarity in this mindset. Thinking in this way allows you to commit all of your energy to being, and doing, your best at the immediate task. In this way, you have the capacity to be fully present, detangling you from the worry of others’ opinions or what may come tomorrow.
The reality is that if you cannot do what you are supposed to be doing right now, your job, you are only making things worse for yourself. Focus fully on your current task like it is your last. Do your job to the best of your ability and know, with complete confidence, this current task is the only thing that matters.
