Navigating the Noise: Focusing on What Matters

To be knowing of all things is God’s task. To be knowing of but a few things is your task. You are a mere mortal and not a divine, all-knowing being.

Be content to seem clueless in extraneous matters. Doing so allows your mind to focus on things that matter most to your unique quest. Your mission is one focused on endless improvement, never fully arriving, always in progress.

Avoid the lure of society to be knowledgeable on many things, on everything. Nobody is forcing you to keep up on every popular event or story. How much better to spend your time, energy, and mind moving further down your own path.

Do not allow yourself to become apathetic or completely obtuse to your surroundings or the ongoings of the world. Yet know that it is wasteful use of your short time here to spend hours pulling the thread on much of what is going on. Be keen to discern what information and knowledge is helpful to you, your family, and furthering you in your journey, supporting your purpose. Be balanced in this, staying informed but avoiding societal outcry to have opinion on all things; many of which you do not know enough to form an opinion. Instead, maintain a humble disposition and an unmatched focus to your personal growth.

It’s ok to not have an opinion and to seem ignorant on a matter. What others deem ignorance you know is really a focus on what matters most to you. They will not understand, and the reality is that they do not need to understand. Move on without regard for these naive opinions.

Remember, what society deems popular today will be forgotten tomorrow. Be diligent in your own pursuit and do not waste time seeking information and knowledge that does not align with your mission and purpose.
