Simplify to Multiply

“Beware the barrenness of a busy life.” – Socrates

Exponential growth does not come from adding more—it starts with removing what doesn’t serve you. Progress is not about stacking on more tasks, responsibilities, or commitments. True multiplication comes through subtraction.

A tree does not grow simply because you add more water or fertilizer. It must be pruned. The weak, dead, or unnecessary branches must be cut away so that the tree’s resources can fully nourish the strongest limbs—the ones capable of bearing fruit.

The same applies to you. Stop trying to do more before you do better. Get rid of what is ineffective, what is draining your energy without delivering meaningful results. Simplify, refine, and eliminate before you seek expansion.

Focus on the vital few over the trivial many. The key to greatness is not spreading yourself thin but honing in on what truly moves the needle. Subtract first—then multiply.
