Overwhelmed
Is the feeling of being overwhelmed a result of external pressures, or is it a reflection of your internal limitations? Beyond truly traumatic or catastrophic events, the sensation of being overwhelmed can only be a product of your own choices—a decision to allow pressure to overpower your rational mind.
Your rational mind serves as a guide, capable of assessing the scope of what can realistically be accomplished, prioritizing tasks, and evaluating our efforts at the end of each day. However, when your efforts fall short, priorities become jumbled, and external influences seem to infiltrate your thoughts, stress begins to take hold.
While it is without question that in life there will always be busy seasons and an endless stream of tasks demanding your attention, you must fight to avoid the debilitation that accompanies the feeling of being overwhelmed. Instead, choose to make steady progress, doing your best with the resources and time available to you. This is enough.
Above all, stop comparing yourself to others and listening to their perceptions of success. Only you know what you are capable of achieving each day and whether your efforts are sufficient. By shedding the weight of this overwhelmed sensation and embracing the truth of your own capabilities, you reclaim your inner strength and navigate life's challenges with resilience and grace.
