NEVER TWICE IN A ROW
When you lose your focus and become distracted, your rhythm is disrupted. These moments challenge your ability to re-establish your routine, resulting in a ripple effect. Extra time, energy, and focus are required to course correct, putting your habits and character at risk. While one misstep doesn’t undo everything, it can lead to another if you don't immediately intervene. Allowing momentum to gather around these distractions pulls you away from the person you aspire to be. Adjust your trajectory accordingly.
Perfection is unrealistic, but it can still be an aim. A single miscue is human—it will happen. Therefore, commit to never allowing two consecutive occurrences. One missed workout should never be followed immediately by a second. One failure of grace and patience should never be followed by another. One bad day must not be followed by another. Intervene and exercise your power of discipline. Commit this to yourself and you will avoid the downward pull of inaction, laziness, and poor habits.
An ordinary man succumbs to the pull of inaction because he lacks the discipline to intervene. He allows endless distractions to amuse him, avoiding the actions needed to heal, grow, and overcome. Do not be ordinary.
