Kind

I am kind, even when society encourages self-interest. I aim to be selfless, helping others and approaching each person and situation with care and mindfulness. My kindness remains steady, especially in challenging moments, recognizing that I may not fully understand the complexities others face. Rooted in compassion, my kindness is not swayed by anger, spite, or frustration.

When such emotions arise—even when they feel justified—I remind myself that sometimes the kindest response is silence. Walking away can be an act of kindness when staying might cause harm. Each day presents countless opportunities for small acts of kindness, done freely, without expectation. I know when to put others’ needs ahead of my own, ensuring I care for myself so that I can give fully when called upon. My kindness is adaptable, taking whatever form is needed in the moment. I am kind.

"Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see." — Mark Twain
