complacent compliance

"Success breeds complacency. Complacency breeds failure. Only the paranoid survive." - Andy Grove

Recognize that if left unattended, routine and habit can be a wretched enemy. Avoid mindlessly going through daily motions. If you take a moment to reflect on the agitation that wells up within you when you hear someone say that they do a certain thing “because that’s how I’ve always done it.” Now look at your own activity and examine if your routine and habit fall into the same bucket. You must align actions with what is most impactful and avoid slipping unconsciously into complacent compliance with mediocre. Constantly re-examine, re-evaluate and reinvent your routines. Build up new habits that help to keep you free from the enemy of your true potential.
