Check Your Mirror

“Objects in the mirror are closer than they appear.”

This design provides a broader field of vision, but it must be complemented with additional perspectives to navigate effectively. Apply this principle to your life: You often overestimate or underestimate the impact of events because you are looking through a distorted reflection.

Too often, the "mirror" through which you assess your life is skewed. This leads to inaccurate conclusions, which can result in poor decisions and suboptimal outcomes. A distorted perspective makes it difficult to move forward effectively and with confidence.

Adjust your mirror. Work to "bend" it back to true by seeking clarity through self-awareness, honest reflection. Leverage the valuable perspectives of those you trust. Work to gain a clearer and more accurate understanding of your journey.

Beware not to become consumed by constant self-reflection. A driver fixated on the rearview mirror will inevitably make mistakes on the road ahead. Balance is key—learn from the past, but do not dwell there.

“Don’t let your rearview mirror be bigger than your windshield.” – Unknown
