REFLECTIONS & THANKFULNESS
“Reflect upon your present blessings, of which every man has plenty; not on your past misfortunes, of which all men have some.” – Charles Dickens.
In this quiet, pre-dawn moment, I am overwhelmed with gratefulness. My mind is consumed by the smallest things—the pen that allows my thoughts to flow onto paper, the notebook that holds them. These seemingly ordinary items feel like miracles, symbols of the great blessings in my life.
I reflect on my loving wife, my amazing children, my good health, and the work I am privileged to do. I think of this home, the food in the pantry, and the memories shared with family and friends. I am deeply thankful for my rational mind and for the trust that has been placed in me throughout my journey.
This journey has exposed me to so much, yet it feels as though I am just beginning. Many of my youthful desires have come to fruition—often in ways I never expected, but have come to realize were far better.
I cannot deny the divine hand in all of this. Only a good and gracious God could have brought me to this very moment, blessing me beyond measure.
