Peel Back the Layers

“The first principle is that you must not fool yourself—and you are the easiest person to fool.” – Richard Feynman

When you think you know why, you are likely only scratching the surface. Almost always, there are at least three or more layers deeper to go before you uncover the true purpose, reason, or root cause of anything.

Do not stop at the first answer. Keep asking why.

  • Why do you want success?

  • Why do you want financial security?

  • Why do you want freedom?

With each layer, you move past surface-level reasoning and get closer to the truth behind your beliefs, actions, and motivations. This practice reveals what truly drives you, clarifies your values, and forces self-awareness.

Be relentless in your questioning. Do not be satisfied with the first answer that sounds good—go deeper. The truth is waiting for you if you are willing to dig for it.
