Observing the Observer

“Your perception of others is a reflection of your inner state.” – Unknown

Take a moment to observe your observer—the inner voice that comments on the world around you. What does it say about others? What does it praise, and what does it criticize? Often, these observations are more about you than about the people or things you’re observing.

Pay attention to the things that irritate you, the qualities in others that grind on your nerves. More often than not, these annoyances reflect something within you—perhaps a flaw, an insecurity, or a part of yourself that you haven't yet come to terms with. Likewise, the things you admire in others often reveal the qualities you value or aspire to embody.

Your inner observer is not a purely objective entity. It is subjective, influenced by your experiences, biases, and emotions. The key is to use it as a tool for growth, not as a critic. Just as you’d examine the surface of a mirror to better understand your appearance, you must hold a mirror to the reflections your inner voice offers.

The irritations and praises your observer makes may actually be projections of unresolved issues within yourself. Recognize this and act accordingly. Your observer is not your enemy but a tool for self-awareness. Use it wisely, with the intention of learning and growing from its reflections.
