Facing Trials
To truly know your strength and character, you must be tested. Welcome such trials with open arms. How else will you know for certain if you are who you believe yourself to be? How else will you validate the lessons you’ve learned along the way? Some trials may be filled with discomfort or pain, and many will avoid this displeasure at all costs. But you must lean into these moments with courage and resolve.
The man who is untested in life remains empty—his true mettle unproven. Without facing adversity, you cannot fully realize your potential or the depth of your resilience. While you don’t always have to seek out trials, rest assured that they will come, unbidden, and without effort. Yet, do not shy away from them when they appear. In all cases, preparation is key.
You may not be able to anticipate the exact nature of your next trial or temptation, but you can prepare yourself daily to be ready for battle. Cultivate a mindset that welcomes adversity as an opportunity for growth, and when those moments arrive, you will stand tall, prepared to face the challenge head-on.
“Adversity introduces a man to himself.” — Albert Einstein
